Fun, hands-on Saturday afternoon sessions designed for all food lovers to enjoy whilst learning great new skills.

 

the Sushi & Sake session

A Sushi making session with a professional sushi chef together a relaxed tutored tasting of three quality sake wines presented by the wine school (there’s a bottle of Sake as a prize for best sushi made on the day!). From making your own Nigiri and Maki, to learning how to cut Sashimi, you’ll spend a relaxed and fun afternoon in great company and learn a great new skill at the same time!

the Tapas & Wine session

In this spectacular Spanish session you’ll make seven delicious tapas dishes with the help of a professional chef, then enjoy a relaxed tutored tasting of seven quality Spanish regional wines chosen to match each dish delivered by the wine school as you taste the two together! Come and celebrate one of the world’s most ideal partnerships of food & wine and learn a little about the Spanish regions and culture at the same time.

the Perfect Dessert session

Learn to make three highly impressive and gloriously indulgent desserts from scratch with top tips on combinations, techniques, and the all-important wow factor element – presentation! Then sample your dishes with three delicious dessert wines chosen to match by the wine school – heavenly!

the Ultimate Italian session

A whistle-stop culinary tour for all Italophiles! Over the course of a relaxed and fun-packed day you’ll learn how to make four fantastic traditional Italian courses from scratch including: a traditional soup with fresh Italian bread, a seafood starter, handmade pasta with fresh pasta sauce, and to top it all off, a delicious traditional Italian dessert. Follow this up with a wine tasting of matching Italian wines by the wine school before you  sit down to enjoy them with what you’ve made – Bellisimo!

the Baking Mad session

Want to learn to bake? Then this is the ideal afternoon session for you. Learn how to make great artisan bread in a hands-on way as you work your way through several delicious recipes used by Bordeaux Quay’s Master Baker, in our own acclaimed artisan breads. Guaranteed to raise a smile!

the Ultimate Food & Wine Matching session

An absolute for all foodies! Spend the afternoon in the company of a professional chef and a wine tutor, who’ll show you the principles of food & wine matching in a fun, hands-on way. You’ll watch delicious sample dishes made in front of you by our chef, picking up essential cooking tips and techniques along the way, then sample them with their perfect matching wine partner, finding out what does and doesn’t work well together – and why!
