ABOUT US

Our vision is to create a nationally acclaimed regional hub for combined learning in the culinary arts.

Our aim is to excite, educate, and motivate people to challenge the way they think about food and wine, and encourage them to shop for locally-sourced seasonal produce wherever they can. We aim to give our students the confidence, creativity and inspiration needed to visit local butchers, farmers markets, fish counters and wine merchants in search of better quality produce and better home cooking experiences.

Our Combined Offering

The School is unique in the South West as we provide not just cookery or wine courses as separate entities, but instead combine the two under one roof and  focus on this wherever we can (Tapas making& Wine tasting, Sushi making & Sake tasting, combined cookery & wine courses focused on country & region).

We believe that in order to bridge the gaps in knowledge of food and wine matching we experience in the UK, and to truly educate and excite students about the world of food and wine, it is essential  to give a real sense of bearing place and tradition for where they are in the culinary world.

Our Ethos

In line with the internationally recognised ethos of Bordeaux Quay Restaurant for its contribution to sustainable development and environmental efficiency, (the restaurant was the UK’s first eco restaurant to achieve a gold star rating under the soil association’s sustainable catering scheme, and has just been awarded a 3 star sustainability rating by the Sustainable Restaurant Association), our cookery courses will have be focused around the use of locally-sourced seasonal produce.
