Community

The Cookery School champions community food education and aims to transform the way everyone thinks and feels about food. Its work focuses on helping young people in and around Bristol to develop an appreciation for the intrinsic links between good food, pleasure, wellbeing, thriving rural economies, cohesive communities and a sustainable future for the planet.

Our community food education options include:

  •  Workshops and activities at the Cookery School for individual school clases and year groups

  •  Workshops in schools delivered by the Cookery School's chef-tutors

  •  Demonstrations at school assemblies

  •  Workshops and demonstrations at food festivals and community events

Tailored food education programmes for social services projects, Children and Young People's services and other local authority initiatives

The Cookery School maintains a Community Food Education fund to allow it to work with as many community groups as possible - profits from its adult and corporate activities are allocated to this fund. The fund means that, generally, community activities can be delivered at or even below cost price.

The Cookery School has a track record of partnership working and is proud to be working with Business in the Community.
