Saving water

Water is a valuable resource and one we often take for granted. Though it seems cheap and readily available, cleaning water to make it drinkable and pumping it to and from our homes and businesses uses lots of energy.

In order to use less precious drinking water to flush the toilets at Bordeaux Quay, we have a rainwater-harvesting tank that collects the water from our roof and uses it to flush the toilets.

Instead of mineral water we serve specially filtered tap water in reusable glass bottles. It is served either sparkling or still and is free to all our customers. In doing so we remove the need to transport thousands of bottles of expensive, unnecessary mineral water, and to recycle all those bottles afterwards.

Our one exception to this is to stock water takeaway bottles in. FRANK is a local company and all proceeds from the sale of their water go to water aid projects in the Developing World.
